Meh. Just meh. This was a jumbled movie that didn't know who its protagonist was. As a results, some elements worked and some felt very weak. Despite the Bollywood influence, this movie was overall quite tepid. Can't say I recommend it.

This film is sooo bad, it is funny. If you can laugh at racism, stereotypes, cliches and bad acting, it's your kind of flic.

Maybe it's because I'm both Indian in origin, and Canadian, but I found this movie funny. Sure it thrives on stereotypes, but I enjoyed it. It was money well spent.

TERRIBLE!!! This is the worst movie I have seen in a long time. There is not one likable character in this movie. The acting is terrible and the story predictable. There are so many movies made about food where one is drawn into the act of cooking. NOT HERE! It reminded me of the bad old days where you could tell that the film was made in Canada. If it was on TV I would have turned it off. I wanted my $ BACK!

Really bad. Poor depiction of indians and canadians. Good story line, could have done so much better with it, but it fell short... really short in my opinion. Spend your time and money elsewhere!!

I wish I could say I liked this movie, but it was not very good. The depiction of Indians and Canadians was really problematic.

This is a dumb-ass movie full of cliches, stereotypes and racism. I was very disappointed in this meagre Canuk attempt at film-making.

This is GAWD AWFUL. Not funny, not endearing, not anything memorable.

Very funny movie. I thought the portraying of Indians in general as sneaky and money-hungry is insulting to them, though.

I saw this movie for free and I still feel ripped off! Badly written, implausible characters, and with the exception of Stella, it had that Degrassi-style Canadian acting. At the end of the movie there is a montage of the main character's fond-memories with Stella. We laughed out loud because none of the 'fond memories' were endearing scenes in the first place. This movie has been pumped up by the Toronto media, but it never would have been made in any film industry town that was not so insular.

Disappointed--but had a good story and depicted poverty in India--great cast with the main roles performed brilliantly by the actors.

This movie had some very cute moments and it was shot well, but overall I'd say the characters were very two dimensional and it could have been a much, much better film.

Bad directing, acting and especially, screenwriting. The movie had potential but was a big disappointment.

Really worth seeing: good casting and acting, very original story. Depicts a problematic of inter-cultural contacts for foreign diplomats. Also, how the contact with the diplomat from the rich country affect the behavior of the local domestics, and how they take advantage of the situation. Food fans will love it. Only downside: the character of Stella is genuinly sympathetic for half the movie, then we are disapointed by her dishonesty, and that of her two proteges. We would be happier, even if it is idealistic, if the locals did not abuse the diplomats that much. It leaves a bitter taste.

I liked this movie. It had the Mehta touch in the visual impact. It showed the beauty of Delhi. It dealt with the economic impact of class differences in a comedic yet thoughtful way. It was a comedy that left you with something to think about. The actress who played Stella did a great job.

I was pleasantly surprised. The locals were not made out to be heroes or saints. I felt I was seeing things through each character's eyes.

It had it's moments but overall the main male character was wooden. I fund the ending unclear - why did she get all the 'prize'? Maybe I didn't understand because the spoken English was sometimes hard to decipher - they should have subtitled it all.

This is a good movie if you are into cooking, one of the best movies i've ever seen, it's worth seeing. If I had a choice to see the RUNAWAYS, or COOKING WITH STELLA, This movie would kick but!!!

Bitter-sweet comedy. Unexpected take on the seldom seen modern India. Many sublime issues and morals without being preachy. Charming and very, very funny.
