[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] It was a not bad movie, great acting of course, a feel good movie but I found it somewhat boring. Baldwin was a typical immature male who cheated on both wives. He needed to become more assertive and work out the issues in his marriage instead of fooling around. If he and Streep got back together there was no guarantee he would not do it to her again. The film went wonky when they were smoking pot at the party. I can only guess how it ended, that she hopefully would choose Steve Martin and tell her ex to grow up.

I think it was wonderful. Excellent that Meryl was the centre of, essentially, a romantic comedy. She played the indecisive female compellingly! I really enjoyed all the actors, especially Meryl and Alec. So funny and just an all-round enjoyable comedy.

Funny in a smart way. I thought it would be more predictable, just "who will she choose? " but the movie is developed enough to be quite good. My boyfriend who doesn't like chick flicks enjoyed this movie as well.

My mother's girlfriend was taking her out to see this movie on her birthday. I wanted to do something with her too, for her birthday. So I said I wouldn't mind seeing it too. Her friend Yvonne says to me," Well it's kinda Chick-flick movie." I said to her well it is her birthday and usually every movie she picks, I always ended up really liking it too. So I don't think it will be a problem. After watching it I said to her that was definitely not a chick-flick movie. I was laughing so hard over the entire movie. I actually had this one young male move away from me because he couldn't handle my laughing. His girlfriend waits five more minutes, gives me this scowl look and goes down to sit beside her boyfriend. I didn't care, it was a comedy so of course we are going to laugh.

This movie was a waste of time, I think it's one of Meryl Streep's worse movies yet. It was not funny, and the storyline was really weak. Not recommended.

Better than I expected, and definitely surprised me in the end. Not heavy on the cliches, and solid comedy from Streep, Baldwin and Martin. The title basically sums it up.

Cute!!! Droll first half, picks up after the party. Letting Steve Martin lose to do what he does best after taking the magic dragon would have been hilarious. Lost a great opportunity here and the movie went to a 7. Alec always shows up for his role, and does well. But this was Martins drive by humor ready to shine. Dam shame.

I did not enjoy this movie. The only characters I liked were Meryl Streep's and the adorable John Krasinski's. I didn't even like the ending. If you MUST watch it, wait for it on DVD.

This movie was recommended to me, I don't know why. Meryl Streep was not at her best. Alec Baldwin was the best thing about the movie.

Best comedy of the year, and one of the best comedy I've ever seen. It's rated a romantic comedy but it's a comedy with a little romance in it.

Streep was her awesome self, but... the rest is a lame excuse for a movie. Boring and predictable, and in some cases not even plausible. Balwin seems to always be trying too hard. Not worth my entertainment dollar.

The viewing of Alec Baldwin chest hair makes this an 8. And guess what, I deducted around 4 points for that. That is how much I enjoyed that movie. If you missed in theatre, then when it comes out on DVD, buy yourself some wine, of brew some good coffee and get some chocolat croissants and relax with some of the finest comedians around!

Very funny movie. You can't go wrong with any movie featuring Merryl Streep- she just a joy to watch! I went with my husband (we're both in our late 20ies) and we both enjoyed the film. This would be a great movie to go to with parents or in-laws!

Funny movie! Went and saw When in Rome afterward and it did not compare to It's Complicated. It was rather awkward as I was sitting next to what must have been a 60 year old woman (lol), but still, very good. Would definitely go see it again!

An uplifting movie for the 40- or 50-something divorced woman! Streep's character is attractive and vibrant, and happily in control of her own life. Her errant scumbag of an ex ends up all alone. God, I love poetic justice!!!

It's complicated is one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time. Every generation would enjoy the engaging performances of Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin and others. I also appreciated the sensitive approach of the writer in regard to how divorce affects children. A very enjoyable and engaging movie.

Movie should have been titled "It's Pathetic". Kudos to Alec Baldwin, however, for his slow growth from a heart throb into the next William Shatner -- both these men have mastered their representations of the banality (even the innocence) of evil; that's no small feat. As for Streep, a wonderful actress, I despair when I watch her perform such a vapid character -- perhaps because she does such a good job. Her ability to play an economically entitled senior citizen still trapped in the drama of adolescence strikes terror in me, not only for women, but for the human race. When all her friends "HIgh Five" her adultery -- what does that say about humanity, that we can call that sort of thing entertainment? As a matter of record, everybody copulates, but human intimacy involves more than that -- no one seemed to notice that she was complicit with Baldwin trying to "Work things out with her" while not putting his other relationship (the fall back position?) in jeapordy. Is that so common now that it makes rational sense. I could go on and on, but let me just say this: the film is about indulgence (food and sex) It suggests that fornication, chocolate layers cakes, and marijuana -- you just can't get enough of them. All is forgivable, in this universe because one person is no better than any other. Thus, the world is a lot like junior high school, except seniors are living in it. This is not what we need to see seniors doing, even if they are doing it. Someone has to be grown up. Someone has to exercise restraint. Someone has to demonstrate wisdom cultivated over a life of joys and pains -- practical wisdom, the sort that not only knows the difference between right and wrong, but even lives that difference. The notion that this movie somehow liberates the older set by getting them into awkward copulatory circumstances is just sad. It capitulates to the notion that people need never grow up. Now someone might say that she had learned a lesson by the end of the film -- to that I would say it is a lesson she should have learned when she was about 23. Am I harder on her character than Baldwin's? Yes I believe so. This is because I believe that the Baldwin character was supposed to be a fool (like Shatner in Boston Legal) The Streep character, like the mother in the TV series BROTHERS AND SISTERS was supposed to represent a respectable human being, as far as I could tell. Well, I just couldn't respect her -- she was, like Sally Field in the TV series -- oblivious of her own sense of entitlement, surrounded by friends equally shallow who enforced this cultural frame, and unwilling, even in her late fifties, to do the hard work necessary to build a morally stable life. Why is that worth making a movie?

Meryl Streep can do it all!! In this movie she can play it totally straight, go for the laughs or tug at the heart strings. Alec Baldwin surprised me. His character was a bit of a louse, but he was still able to make the his character as sympathetic as well as pathetic. Hey it's not easy growing old. Steve Martin in a serious role still managed to get rib busting laughs during a party scene with Streep without going over the top. Both my wife and I loved the movie - a romantic comedy that's not too mushy.

I was a little reluctant to see this movie with my wife. I figured it to be a "chick flick." I was pleasantly surprised to see it was just a good fun light-hearted movie with a stellar cast. Meryl Streep was as great as always. Alec Baldwin was a blast and Steve Martin playing it straight was excellent. The supporting cast was solid and believable. Not the greatest movie ever made, but a fun and sometimes touching movie that leaves you with a good feeling walking out of the theatre.

Good movie, loved everyone in it. Really liked John Krazinski. No way is this an oscar performance by anyone, but for sheer entertainment it can't be beat. Especially fun for middle-aged women and divorced, middle-aged women.

Laugh out loud in the theater funny. Baldwin was very funny. Steve Martin was not his in his usual role, too serious and overly nice (love him when he's his funny self, but not in this type of role) Probably more enjoyable for 25 years or old age groups.

If you're old enough to fear mortality and young enough to anticipate lust you'll really like this one. It's a middle-age Isosceles love triangle, with Streep balancing the sexual snake-like Baldwin against the vulnerable-guy Martin. All three actors are in their professional prime and are a blast to watch, with extra points for Martin as he plays off-type as the calmest, most mature of the three. It's not as strongly-written as Something's Gotta Give, but it has an extra level of pathos. A smart, smiley date flic.

This movie promised some hilarious situations and came through. Too funny!! Loved Streep and Baldwin although he may have overplayed his role a tad... he was adoreable... the kinda goof you end up loving... nice to see Martin playing a serious role instead of a "comedic" role... much more likeable for me... many comic moments were subtle... a sign of great acting... and directing...

Streep, as always, was wonderful!! Baldwin surprisingly very well cast too! As a fan of Martin's earlier work, his supporting role was not the same nonetheless still fun to see him. If you liked Something's Got to Give, then you MUST see this one - you won't be disappointed!!
