"Hanging Up" is not just a movie about sisters trying to care for a sick parent. It is about our connection with handling tough issues and how we tend to cope differently. Each sister handles their father's sickness in the way that they think is comfortable for them to cope. Though it is obvious that one sister takes on more responsibility. I think this movie shows our courage and even craziness when we have to determine the best way to handle life without hanging it all up...

I thought this movie was good! It describes the lives of 3 sisters and their sick father and how they cope with it. I know there wasn't much of a plot but not all of our lives have one either. It was interesting and I loved it. :).

I am a big fan of Diane Keaton, and was glad that she made a new movie. What a disappointment!. The whole movie is about a hysterical, miserable, loud Meg Ryan. I appreciated her in "Sleepless in Seattle", but in this movie, nothing! Even though I have lived through similar experiences, I couldn't identify at all with any of the characters. There was absolutely no chemistry between the sisters. It bothered me that Eve would get out of paying for her accident, because she had a good heart. Where? When? All I saw were complaints about taking care of an ailing father that they had all abandoned anyway, for many years. However, I am glad to have seen Mr. Matthau's swan song. I am also glad I didn't have to pay to see this movie. It represents today's woman under a very negative light, hysterical, shallow and even incapable. Running around like a chicken with its head cut off is not what would get things done in real life. I expected more from this movie. I am extremely disappointed.

Very rarely do you root for an allegedly sympathetic character to die. We did, because we thought the movie would end faster. Too cowardly to walk out, we stayed til the painful, gruesome end. There are no redeeming parts to this film, despite the somewhat talented actors involved.

I loved the cast but was very disappointed with the movie. This is definitely marketed as a comedy and I thought it was anything but. Aside from a few good lines, most of it was pretty sad and quite heavy.

Taking care of a sick parent could have been the start of a wonderful story. So many emotions could have been visited. There were the occasional laugh, but after viewing a fight between Meg Ryan and her father when he "crashes" her son's birthday party, the audience is left with little sympathy for this man. Meg Ryan's nice clothes and great car weren't enough to elevate this movie.

The movie was amazing. I laughed so much. Lisa Kudrow is hilarious!! This movie is as good as the First wives club. I really enjoyed this comedy/drama. Go see it.
