This is worth seeing just for Jennifer Lawrence's performance. She stole every scene she was in and most of the ones she wasn't in, too. The movie is an interesting trip back to 70s USA, pointy collars and all, and it captures the turmoil of those years of change (most of which weren't for the better, but never mind) The acting is all stellar but the writing and directing fell down a couple of times. One character refers to "growing our industry" or words to that effect; I can guarantee you that the misuse of that verb was unheard of in the 70s. Also, the character who is allegedly an American imitating an Englishwoman uses the exact same (American) accent throughout her "changes" from one to the other. Americans never were any good at languages so the above two glitches are to be expected... Other than the small mistakes and the unnecessary length of the film it was quite entertaining. It had the men and the women in the theatre laughing frequently, although usually not at the same times;) It was fun, interesting, well acted and directed and what the heck more do you want from a movie, eh?
