This 1941 adaptation of the Fannie Hurst novel on the then morals of love and forbidden love works well enough with Charles Boyer and the very engaging Margaret Sullivan as the woman Boyer loves. As with all of Hurst's work you will get amazing life lessons of the time and a film replete with so many ups and downs... none to our satisfaction.
