Director Alejandro G. Iñárritu is hit or miss for me; I loved Amores Perros and 21 Grams, but hated Biutiful. Birdman goes into the Love category. It pokes fun at theatre and the Hollywood machine, while at the same time casting actors who themselves profited from blockbuster movies. Michael Keaton and Zach Galifianakis are excellent, but Emma Stone is out of her league here. The drum score by Antonio Sanchez is amazing, and fits the movie. Film students will love the long tracking shots too.
