Another really solid Woody Allen film. If you ask me, it is more of a nod to Bernie Madoff and his kind, than A Streetcar Named Desire (as Woody has been quoted in recent interviews) Interesting film covering a lot of ground literally (from Park Avenue and The Hamptons to the working class neighbourhoods of SF) as well as class differences in families (and in the US) Cate Blanchette's performance was fantastic, Alec Baldwin was under-utilized, and it was the best performance by Sally Hawkins that I've ever seen. Woody coaxed great performances out of all the actors. Warning: film inspires major real estate and wardrobe envy! I may not admire Jasmine's 'ignorance' but I sure admired her lifestyle and wardrobe. Only one complaint: film was too short and I would have liked to spend at least another half hour in their world. Music, as usual, was all-Woody!
