Everyone's infallibility makes this movie pointless. For whom do we care; who is in peril? Isn't it ludicrous to presume that Captain America and friends are afraid of being arrested? As there is no chance of any harm befalling these superheroes, there is likewise no dramatic tension. We look at a canvass of action that might as well feature unknown characters. The best stunts are running, the greatest visuals of the actors' physiques. The franchise has passed silly; it is becoming an insult to our collective intelligence. You wonder what so much talent might achieve with better material. This vacuous, vapid exercise in superficial appeal makes you wonder why you chose it over more cerebral movies. Buy in to the Avengers credo: everybody bash, everybody smash, and no one gets hurt. It is a rapid fire machine gun that obliterates every target, bullying the viewer into liking it. How American. Heaven help us.

I'm kind of with this guy. Disney seems to be making Marvel movies and Star Wars movies so formula now. I have to take at least three breaks to stand in that little hallway that leads out of the theatre and check my text messages. It's too bad that can't get some good young script writers from places like Netflix to formulate a good story and think out of the box.
We all have personal tastes but I'm not exactly sure why you'd go to a superhero/action film and expect something different? That would be like going to a sushi bar and being left disappointed because they only had sushi, while expecting something different... like sinking your teeth into a 10oz steak!
Point taken. There was actually another review, a positive one, for this film, and here it is: Two words: Giant Antman. 8/10. But I was in a bad mood when I wrote the review, so I submitted the negative one.
