Soderbergh is a great director and this film has an all star cast yet I was surprisingly underwhelmed by it. Typically these virus films are heavy on the science, short on suspense, and this film is akin to that model. Even though millions of people die as a result and the world degenerates into chaos the viewer never really feels scared or uneasy as it all happens. As well, the film jumps back and forth between several divergent storylines making it kinda hard to get immersed in any one story. Law's conspiracy theorist blogger is the film's most complete and interesting character, and the film ends with a clever little revelation but honestly with this collection of talent both in front and behind the camera I was expecting something more than your average virus tv movie which this essentially is if you subtract the A list cast.
