This movie is a great depiction of what it's like to be a burnt out musician out on the road playing music. It's also an amazing look at the desperation of one who has allowed alcohol to consume his life on the road and then realizes that love is the saving grace in the person he meets, and the very thing that makes this movie great. Love conquers all. Jeff Bridges is the movie.

This movie sounds like it is extremely cliché, but it might just be how you write about it. "The desperation of one" and the realization "that love is the saving grace" is almost too much. But then "love conquers all," I think I get it now. The movie is not unique enough for it to be marked as a great movie.
