Comedy? One quip by a minor character, hardly Peter Sellers. Quite well made, although cliche' and symbolism riddled think piece on vacancy. One conclusive candle power of uplift, only. The performances were exemplary, from end to end. Doubt they could've been bettered, given the material. Great cast, Naomi Watts notable as usual, Chris Cooper fine, Gyllenhaal good, if overdone, Judah Lewis capable. I thought Blaire Brooks as a PA, utterly convincing. I found the wanton physical waste, hard to take. Suppose it was a metaphor for emptiness of materialism. Resonates to me immensely of a film, very unlike it, so forgettable I can't recall it now. That I think will be "Demolition"s legacy too, trivializing and awkward, owing to something else with those traits. Didn't like it much, harder to respect it.
