    Django Unchained

... retro-racism on steroids, a black Clint Eastwood? Now-w-w that is funny! The "n" word is brought back to life in copious piles and in glorious living color - if you'll pardon the pun - by the white and black actors in this junkpile of a movie so does this mean that it is safe for the rest of us cowards to use the word now, I mean after so many decades of avoiding even thinking about, never mind uttering, that blasphemy under pain of death? If I were a white or black man or woman I would be deeply saddened and offended by all the stupidity dumped on humanity in general by this movie company (thank goodness Native Americans were left out of the script except for one small oblique reference which most audience members didn't get or maybe they were simply bored to tears by then) But I'd be offended anyway by the dumb-as-a-box-of-rocks screenwriters and director who would dare to suffer my intelligence. I mean, who are these guys? Is the movie historically correct? Hardly. Fantasy? More'n likely and in spades - that is if you'll forgive the pun, again - but since they brought the subject up... ! and all this with a generous serving of blues to Woodstock to rap as the soundtrack of your life... gratuitous blood and guts thrown everywhere and non-stop, my my! The only spot left unbloodied was the camera lens... I mean those high def slow-mo camera guys and dimwitted hill-billy actors can sure make those body-parts and guts splatter everywhere, enough gun fights, broken bones and body limbs thrown around and raining down from the vanilla Hollywood heavens to last us for the next ten Hollywood war movie blockbusters, enough to make even the most hardened of Muslim suicide bombers puke. And what was this nonsense anyway, a comedy? A historical drama? Serious dialogue? An off-color joke gone wild? That is, if you'll pardon the pun. I mean... ? Go figure "n". The audience didn't know whether to laugh or cry or even when it was appropriate to do either. Don't adjust your brain idiot, it's only a movie! I was nauseous and felt like vomiting after nearly three hours of this non-stop shoot'em up come-western-come-hero-worship gore and I don't mean Al, or perhaps it was just the lousy overpriced buttered popcorn that movie theatres are shoving at us these days. All this from Oscar winners? So is retro-racism/neo-racism the new trend in movies? I certainly hope not but Johnny Depp's new movie Tonto, seems to be confirming that suspicion, that this lifelong neurotic prejudice and hatred of all too many whites towards non-whites, and now rapidly becoming that of blacks towards non-blacks may be the wave of the future for the next generation, an anachronism, or better yet, an act based upon cronyism by any other name. Where is it ever going to end? Seems like an apropos time to stay home for the next decade or two and write my own books.

[...] The movie like other QT movies is purely entertainment. Well except for Inglorious Basterds which was 100% historically accurate... well almost...
