    Draft Day

After Kevin Costner won all the awards, he was in position where nobody said no to his whims. In the best tradition of "absolute power corrupts...". He made few mysteriously divined, grandiose films, that went "thud" with no argument. He seemed to learn that "I dunno" ought to mean "DON'T Do It" when discussing a project. Costner makes good films again lately, usually well scripted, supporting cast chosen perfectly and well acted. Now with hard won reality in his arsenal, knows his range and how to realize a script. Jennifer Garner does a fine job, as usual. I have seen numerous football related films. Very few have been given the NFL's obvious blessing, as this must have been. This a credible yarn, a roles served best they could be, and nicely arched twist. Fine way to spend a couple of hours. Really a 7.5!
