A good but not great look at the life of Edith Piaf and her legendary paramour, Marcel. Claude Lelouch is a great director, but the film has a couple of major strikes against it. It is impossibly long at almost three hours, and someone slightly more animated and dramatic, someone better known should have played Edith Piaf. LA VIE EN ROSE which won Marion Cotillard an Oscar as Best Actress playing Piaf is an extraordinary venture into the life of "la mome Piaf". This latter film is the way to truly get a perfect vision of the lady Piaf!
