Guardians of the Galaxy

This is a very fun movie, but it walks a very uneasy tightrope between being truly exciting and kid-friendly. Also, the characters aren't very well fleshed out... Rocket and Peter are good, but the others feel pretty thin... the villains especially. They seem like threats, but a threat to the Galaxy? I'm not feeling it. Great scenery and effects and action, lots of explosions and bloodless mayhem, some good humour (although a lot of quips and snark are hard to hear) Don't bother waiting to see the after-credit 'surprise'... even if you're a fan of the character(s), there's not much to see. I won't spoil it for you, but there's not much to see...
