What a movie! Don't know exactly what to make of it... I thought the movie would be an action movie with Hanna as the predator, not the prey... but it turned out to be a road movie, with Hanna discovering her new world. The music fit totally the scenes, the scenery left us speechless and the actors, flawless. A balance of everything: action, violence, love, sensuality (the gypsies), comtemplation, tenderness, viciousness, actual love (the father), coldness. But Hanna was not on screen what she was supposed to be in reality. And why, why did they come back to the real world? Kate Blanchett asked that question twice, without any answer. And, who among you realized it was an allegory of the Red Riding Hood? ;-) We totally care for Hanna, like Nikita. Will she be back?

The question was answered. Answer given: Because children grow up! If you have a teenager or older, you'll get that. See, once children develop a sense of awareness and self, you can no longer keep the truth from them because they'll start distrusting you. You have to acknowledge that there's no Santa and tooth fairy and that the world is full of evil etc. etc. You are forced to explain why you are keeping them from the world. Therein lies the age-old conflict between parent and teen. We want to protect and shield them; they want to know, learn, experience, make mistakes and to finally make up their own minds. That's why she had to return to the world! Human nature is what it is. Must everything be spoon-fed to viewers? Geez.
