If you remember Kevin Sorbo's Hercules, then this is what you get with this. Whereas Sorbo's Hercules never took itself seriously, this movie does attempt to take itself seriously. And that's where it falls apart. Yes it has some good animations, but some good animations do not alone make a good movie. From the perfectly manicured teammates, to the cheesy "walking to the battle montages", to the fake looking club that Herc ports around (I mean every time I seen it I thought wow, that's a big piece of styrofoam right there), and so on. And that's the problem, none of it is believable. And I get it's Hercules, but they could have done so much more with the Rock (who I happen to like) if they took this as a seriously telling with a more realistic approach (aka Batman Begins kinda feel) I got 1 hour in and gave up on this, and that's rare. Maybe it got better, I'll never know...
