Trailers always sensationalize too much, therefore I had higher expectations of this one. It was a sleeper and a little too slow. The audience was restless and afterward I heard comments such as "I wouldn't sit through that one again"," It was too slow" and "I prefer a good ghost story". What was missing for me was the natural flow and connection between the characters and more creativity and a better climax. Matt Damon held his role well but the rest, due to lack of a stronger storyline, didn't support well enough. It was also lacking creativity to connect the characters and their lives. Even the connection between Matt and the French lady didn't have the right chemistry or plausibility. Also, they film makers spent too much time on some scenes and not enough on others. It all had such wonderful potential but was sadly missing so much. I did enjoy the little boy as well as the cooking class scene.
