It's always a pleasure to see a movie featuring romance between characters "of a certain age" for a change. I enjoyed the banter between the card-playing old ladies. This reminded me of the raunchy conversations between the thirty-something New York sophisticates in Sex and the City. There is a surprise twist towards the end, which I didn't see coming and lent some degree of pathos to the film. Blythe Danner was remarkable and I do hope she's remembered at Oscar time. This is a very modest, charming movie which provides a look into the troubles and losses of old-age but is not without its moments of humor.
