Was very good and insane so to speak. Was funny and twisted in so many levels that you feel for it or dare I say fall for it.

This movie could have had a lot more commercial appeal if they had cut a couple of the sex scenes. Not that anything is shown, but what is just about visible is not going to be attractive to a lot of viewers. Outside of that the story is entertaining, Jim Carrey plays a whacky character, which he excels at, and Ewan McGregor is very convincing as Phillip Morris. The way his eyes lit up when he looks at Russel made me believe he was in love with him. He is definitely deserving of a best supporting actor Oscar for his role (not that he'll get it)

The entertaining, sweet and fantastic story of Russell, a man of many faces, and what he does for the company, comfort, and love of Phillip. Charming, witty, funny, sad, and very gay! Great performance by Jim Carrey as a completely gay con man, unfortunately not the chemistry I had hoped for between him and his demure companion, Ewan McGregor.

This movie is a Jim Carrey movie, who keeps on playing The Mask: no subtlety, superficial, just playing Jim Carrey making funny faces and being clever. The movie is about his various illegal schemes, not the love story with Philip Morris, which was misleading, because of the title. I usually like Ewan McGregor, but there was no depth in his character, even though it was not that bad, and there was no chemistry between them. Jim Carrey made 1 good movie: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.
Defenitly not a film for hardened homophobes. In the great tradition of the screwball comedies of American cinema. In fact there is a scene from a Cary Grant film, arguably the grand Master of the genre. Jim Carrey shows us his comic genius and his courage in the role of this off the wall gay man.

I don't often rate high, but this is definitely a great movie not to be missed. Jim is funny as always and the gay aspects of the movie is especially interesting.

Incredible movie... this is the type of movie that really showcases the comical genius of Jim Carrey. It was well written and well executed. And for those who feel the need to discount the quote "explicit" nature of the sex scenes, I am curious if you are just a prude or a homophobe... would you have the same comments about the explicit nature of three-quarters of film, which is of heterosexual plot-lines... ?

I laughed. I cried. I gasped. Can't remember the last movie that did that to me. Must See.

I really am not sure how to rate this movie. Is Jim Carrey a genius or a total numbnut? This movie has sparks of what could be a crazy talented script. Yet, it verges on the edges of disaster throughout. What do you say about it? I don't know. Some will love it, some will hate it. I do not love Philip Morris but you very well may. Note: Only for those that aren't offended by crazy, laissez faire comedy that is explicitly homosexual throughout. Certainly not Jim Carrey's movie with the broadest audience.
