I give the makers credit for making an actual science fiction movie, that explores and tries to speculate about scientific issues, like life, the universe, and everything. Their attempt to portray the effects of relativity at high speeds was a good effort, and some of the other issues they explore are entertaining. Their ideas about black holes are creative but nonsense, as far as we know now. Having said that, Matt M. is not convincing as a good ole boy/farmer/interstellar space jockey.
