Boy, what a complex human being! I was not going to see this movie, specifically due to the fact that Ashton Kutcher was portraying Jobs. His fluffy roles in the past, although humorous at times, never captivated me. In shocking contrast, his acting, gait, mannerisms and complex characterization of Steve Jobs was shockingly, portrayed well; the best role I have seen him in to date. I found him to be deserving of an Oscar; just so polar opposite to his previous work. I would now love to read the book. It’s interesting yet sad that the only painting in his home was that of Einstein. The film to me was about inspiration, creativity, innovation, frustration, heartlessness, loss and personal struggles and the game of big business. I did not really have much knowledge around Steve's climbs and falls up and down the ladder of success and failure. In realizing his dreams, there were such “costs” attached! The inner portrait of Jobs was even more compelling than just depicting a great innovator. Even the era and music of the times meshed well into the storyline; and what a beautiful score. Steve thought outside the box and his perseverance was unstoppable. I never listen to the critics; I find out for myself. This is a film well worth seeing, especially if you know little of the story, or if you just want to be entertained by a very moving picture. You will be certainly surprised at Ashton’s increased caliber of acting. Perhaps he just needed the right role. I cried during his last speech as he talks about a “round peg in a square hole. ” He and his team, definitely changed the world!
