This is one of those movies that passed by with little attention and didn't really make a dent into the holiday box office. However, let me say without hesitation that it is one great thriller and those box office results are not an indication of the value of the film, at all. In fact the film has everything going for it : a real mind-boggling intrigue (one that also happens to be true), an impeccable portrayal of a gutsy journalist with implacable integrity and sense of purpose in uncovering and communicating the truth, excellent directing & script,... The story is disturbing to say the least though true & Jeremy certainly makes the character believable in many, many ways. A truly irreproachable performance. The script is poignant & story laid out at an almost perfect pace keeping the viewer both interested and entertained. It's not surprising to know that Michael Cuesta has also produced and directed numerous episodes of Homeland & Dexter also some of my favorite shows. In truth I can't really flaw this movie. I can only wonder why it didn't succeed more than it did at the box office. It is a thoroughly entertaining thriller.
