I truthfully went into this film with the lowest of expectations but the movie far exceeded these preconceived ideas. It was a different type of sci fi, far removed from the typical end of the world flicks that I've witnessed for too long; its become mundane. This movie was refreshing that way and because it was philosophical in nature, thought provoking with great imagery to accompany its messages, everything assisted in moving the pace along; quickly at times perhaps as in our own lives. The movie captured my interest from the start, and was entertaining; never boring. It turned out to be a much more cerebral film than I had originally thought. The plot was interesting and acting was well done. In my opinion this was one of Scarlett Johansson's better films. (save for "Horse Whisperer") Morgan Freeman always captivates me and I enjoyed his lectures, especially his strong message re man as more into "having" than "being." There is wonderful contrast between our actual state of being and our possible potential of consciousness. We were given the gift of life and what have we done with it? SMELL THE ROSES!
