I made sure to see the original Mad Max before venturing out for this one. Though not enamoured of the original movie like most must have been, there was a real, kinetic energy to that film to which one could relate. Though I adore the stars, Theron especially (Furiosa), I could not relate to the entire enterprise. I did like Nicholas Hoult in a supporting role. Everyone is giving it a 9 or 10 yet no one looks at the truly important matters of the film. The screenplay is only mediocre at best, the director should never get another job and the film was nothing if only SPECIAL EFFECTS! I can't relate to that kind of world. It's not my age; it's my sensibilities as a human being! Sorry to burst the bubble, but my true reaction to the film won't make a dent on the score or the piles of money the movie will make.

Coming from someone who rated Fight Club 2/10 your review does not surprise me. Curious, it sounds like you forced yourself into seeing it when you knew it was never goin' to be a happy boy meets girl ending? You're obviously not a fan of film noir type movies, each to their own.
This wasn't a noir-ish movie, though (however, he rated Blade Runner a 3, I believe)
