Even though I liked Woody Allen's recent movies, Paris, Rome, Jasmine a lot, I thought this one raised the bar in terms of writing and was therefore better than those. It was witty, sharp, sophisticated and urbane. It also raised some delicate philosophical questions on the meaning of life and our place in the universe. It had some crafty unexpected twists. In short, brilliant. Colin Firth was in top form as was the entire cast.
