I thought that this film was much better than your average ratings to date would suggest. Granted, it was not a melodrama, but I felt that it was an excellent evocation of a era of immense change in Europe. There was also criticism in your reviews of the "modern" sound track, but this music served to establish the appropriate atmosphere of debauchery and extravagance. There was also criticism of the ending, but I felt the ending was completely appropriate; Kirsten Dunst's final word, "Good Bye", defined the end of the era. And, given the lack of dialogue in the film, I felt that Kirsten Dunst did an outstanding job in the role of Marie Antoinette.
