This movie got off to such a slow start (with the exception of Clooney shaking his groove thang), I didn’t care that a couple of nit wits in the audience kept checking their [...] cell phones. However, after the first half hour, things took a slow and steady turn for the better. Roberts was excellent in a non-glam decision-making role, and Clooney delivered a performance that saved him from the initial pantomime debacle. Foster did a competent job directing, so that in the end, a trite, predictable farce turned into an interesting story.
