    Moonrise Kingdom

A tale about conflict and its resolution; combat occurring within the same generation and across generations. The heroes in this beautifully filmed fantasy are Kara Hayward and Jared Gilman, two youngsters who know just enough about the real world to know they don't want any part of it. A fine soundtrack throughout, and the music during the closing credits was a exercise in joy for me. Perhaps this film is ultimately too 'sweet' to be regarded as one of the best of the year, but it's a good one.
