This movie started out with great pace, particulary while the White House was under attack. As the movie wore on, it got progressivly weaker. At one point, I imagined that I was just watching another Die Hard movie; only Gerard Butler instead of Bruce Willis. You know - every secret service agent for miles around gets killed, but for Butler's lone character. That said, Butler pulled off the role well, Eckhart was ok and Morgan Freeman was totally wasted. All that said, the action sequences were very good and the movie was fairly gripping. No masterpiece, but worth an afternoon at the movies.
