I was very impressed with this film. The screenplay, direction, acting and locations felt very true-to-life to me. I felt great empathy for most of the characters and their life choices / plight (life goes on even in a conflict zone) This film is about the occupation, but more so about relationships - between life long friends, lovers, families, brothers in arms, love and hate, loyalty and betrayal. This foreign film is a slow burn with an incredible ending, which is a welcome change for me (from predictable American films).
