Pacific Rim

This is basically a confrontation between GIANT Robocops versus HUGE Alien/Predator-hybrids. It also reminded me a little bit of the original Starship Troopers, with its no-name cast fighting invading creatures. The only good actor was the African-American (British?) leader. Of course, the battle scenes are the centerpiece of the film and with all the mist, fog, rain, clouds, darkness and muddled editing, they came across very poorly. I don't know if they were aiming for a retro-Godzilla look, but I swear that a man in a rubber suit was used for a couple of brief sequences. The subplot involving the nerdy, geek scientist who wore glasses baffled me completely.
