    Spy

Whereas Sean Connery played James Bond with a dash of class, Melissa McCarthy plays Susan Cooper, Bond's female counterpart, with a quick wit and an abundance of foul language interspersed with some finely placed karate moves. The film is a delightful romp, using the 'spy' motif to show marvelous film settings, beautiful people and knock-out costumes. The picturesque city of Budapest acts as fill-in for both Rome and London with American director Paul Feig producing and writing the script and occasionally appearing on screen as one of the characters. With a lot of physical action in the film though, he also employed about three dozen stunt men. Perish the thought that this movie is going to spawn sequels as so many summer movies do, but Ms. McCarthy was a joy to watch and I expect to see her again.
