Billy Wilder made a genuine star out of William Holden first with Sunset Blvd and then in his Oscar Winning Performance in Stalag 17, a war drama with a spy in the thick of things. Holden's character is an "iffy", elusive one and the suspense is on as to who, indeed, is the branded culprit. Great company of an all male cast with director Otto Preminger in one of his acting challenges.
