    The Adderall Diaries

I never listen to the critics and until I rented this suspense thriller, I had never heard of the "Adderall Diaries." It is a very befitting title and some very interesting subject matter is explored regarding the editing of our lives. I found this to be the most fascinating part of the film-the foundation if you will. Delving into real from non-real, truths or fabrication, a veritable murder trial and its correlation to the main character's life all assist in moving the plot along at a solid pace. Memory is an interestingly, curious thing and the further back we go, stories may change and people will have different recollections of the same event.

In terms of characters, I thought that this was James Franco's finest acting; never being a huge fan prior. Amber Heard also surprised me with a very real and passionate performance and Ed Harris's acting always speaks for itself-authentic and compelling. This movie makes you reflect on your own life stories and how we perceive or remember them as we do, so as to justify our feelings around them. It is this very interpersonal part of the film, weaving in and out of everything, which is key to the suspense, our feelings surrounding pain, love, hurt and anger and our development of character or possible evolution. This film takes a good hard look at how we all edit our stories and if we're truly introspective, we can see our roles much clearer and how they have impacted our lives and others. We are all pieces of the pie. This underlying theme of memory/perception and its purpose in justifying our feelings, is pervasive. See this film; its uniqueness will not disappoint. (It bears some likeness to Sarah Polly's," The Stories We Tell." It is somewhat an awakening and brought with emotion!
