The Brave One As Vigilante the main 'heroin' rules. Jodie Foster, since "Taxi Driver" has shown talent and flare for drama. Some of her films deal with women reacting to or being victims of violence. In The Brave One she is fabulous, daring, concentrated, stubborn, fixated and decided. Her picture is clear in her mind, her 'alter ego' has taken over on a path of Justice beyond belief. Somebody has to carry on the task. Neil Jordan shows a steady hand at directing this film, his hand never weavers or gives allowances, he is never trapped on moral or ethical barriers, he is totally focused and committed on the score. Somebody, somehow has to do the City clean up. Her reason is clear from beginning to end. The most interesting thing is that even the Police Detective has some issues with a Justice System that's not working. When they connect and pair Terrence Howard and Jody Foster form a terrific ensemble out to get the truth and get Justice to work the way it should in an amazing and most unexpected ending that shows the human and compassionate side of his badge. There is a hidden romance which is left after the credits end for a future encounter not yet revealed, these two beings have something in common at opposites sides of the Law. There is flow in this film, an uninterrupted flow. Without obstacles or barriers, only those of conscience seem to interfere briefly but are sidelined. The Radio Program of which she is the Host must continue reflecting 'reality' and so is life.

"to do the City clean up" interesting concept but also impossible to carry out. If anybody, including hardened criminals (even criminals have some brains too), sees a lonely person like that at night in an empty street, he'll know right away that she's up to something and run in the opposite direction. Coming across somebody who's very angry and hiding loaded gun will make anybody shiver. This movie is totally unrealistic and sending the wrong message of fear. And what you fear you will attract to you.
Your reply is simplistic and skewed to your idealistic, socialist belief system. The movie rocks, is kicking the box office and is a great addition to Jodies flawless resume. [...]
Jodie Foster IS a great actress and the movie is entertaining and captivating. That was not my point. The point was; this movie is based on false beliefs and sends the wrong message.
