The Dark Knight Rises

Batman Rises is a good action movie, but it does not stand above any of the others. The story line is quite predictable. The first twenty minutes is a waste of time. On the up side, all the action scenes are well choreographed and interesting. The sound track was quite good as it followed the Dark Knight’s lead in that category. It just reminds me of how phenomenal Heath Ledger’s performance was. This new bad guy with the thing on his face is not menacing at all. I am still not quite sure why he had to wear it, with his Sean Connery accent. Michael Caine’s performance was brilliant- even though he had very few lines. He stole every scene that he was in. Ms. Hathaway was fine but not credible as a martial artist. The machines were great but nothing new except for the helicopter. There were lots of flaws in the storyline (typical for action movies), which in my view was half an hour too long. The ending was just too predictable as well. Ho Hum. It would appeal to kiddies, as the scoring above would indicate.
