I didn't read the books. I liked the movie and thought it was generally well done with good acting. The opening credit scene with a twisted rendition of a Led Zeppelin song is almost worth the price of entry by itself and gives you a good glimpse into the darkness that lies ahead. There is one thing that made it loose points with me and I find it very unfortunate but the foreign accents of some of the actors and actresses makes their english barely understandable. Daniel Craig is caught mumbling a few phrases here and there which didn't help matters at all. Dialog is of paramount importance in making sense of the whole story so this is unforgivable in an otherwise almost faultless picture. Although I love Daniel Craig as James Bond, I couldn't help but think another actor could have played a better journalist with better articulation. The last 15 minutes seemed strange to me and disconnected with the rest of the movie. Why couldn't they end it once the serial murder case was solved?
