I'm a Tarantino fan but I hated this disastrous movie. It was a remake of a popular theme of movie & TV westerns of the 50s and 60s; groups of people find themselves trapped in a stage coach station and hidden secrets are slowly revealed as the participants learn new things about themselves and one another, etc. It was always more soap opera than horse opera but Tarantino's version is just a long running (2 hours), long-winded paean to the cupidity, stupidity and mindless violence of the worst people in any society. I don't see it as being praiseworthy and "Hateful Eight" offered neither entertainment nor insights to the suckers sitting in the audience, despite the attempts of the actors to make something of the dreary, plodding plot and insipid anachronistic dialogue (People in the 1870s did NOT go about saying things like, "You're being paranoid, man.")
Quentin Tarantino has become an embarrassment to himself; his nurses should control his meds better and keep him occupied weaving baskets instead of letting him run loose to wast investors' money, actors' talent and filmgoers' time.
