You'll love this movie if you're a TRUE fan of Tolkien, not just the movies but the books as well. You have to remember that Tolkien wrote The Hobbit for his kids so it's less dark and more kid friendly than the Lord Of The Rings. It's the world and the characters that make for such awesome stories. The only thing that stops me from giving this movie a 10 is the bubble gum'ish, Three Stooges, Laural & Hardy type battle escapes but maybe that's part of the kidd'ish tone to the books? Maybe that's Peter Jackson's attempt at keeping true to the books intended audience? I really liked the movie and glad I went. I can't wait for parts 2 & 3.
