    The Hundred-Foot Journey

Lately, the accolades and appreciations of the small-ish UK, Euro films must've grated on Hollywood. Suffering a serious keister whupping at "their own game". Armload's of Oscar's flying away abroad. Woody Allen's series of city scapes aside, the plot's been lost. This is an answer, heavy production hitters, great and new international faces, all fundamental reliable buttons pushed. What did they get? Pretty good film, well acted, lovely to look at, all the emotional ebb and flow. Sat in a full house, and the audience fully bought in, laughing, sighing, and nodding. That's why movies became a part of life, commonality and relevance to the average fantasy life. Helen Mirren was fine as always, Om Puri subtle but effective as a man we all know. Charlotte LeBon another of the French actress finds, that illuminate from within. The whole cast just fits, and the property acquisition team, production design squad, A1. Amblin's gravity, no doubt! I can't give it a 10, except for what it's existence realizes. Maybe it's turning point, or just a moment for Hollywood. Was a time their average was nearly here, decades ago. Solid 8 because it tries far above the current common denominator.
