Being British, I grew up in the era when Margaret Thatcher was PM. I went to see this movie to learn more about the woman. I'm DISAPPOINTED to the extreme! It is a disjointed movie that focuses on her apparent deterioration in old age. The historic stuff is told in flashback form, which is what makes the movie so frustrating. Why waste all that time showing an old lady being forgetful and missing her husband, rather than showing the amazing achievements in her life. Only a few key historic moments were covered. I spent the whole movie wishing for the next flashback to come. The only redeeming factor to this movie is Meryl Streep was incredible. This may be Meryl Streep's best ever role, but ironically within a terrible movie. If you appreciate good acting and don't mind the sketchy history, it's worth a watch only for Meryl.

Great review. I completely agree. Very frustrating storytelling. A real shame.
