    The King of Kings

Cecil B. De Mille made the original The King of Kings as a silent in 1927 but disregarded it as a possible re-make. That job went to Samuel Bronston who produced a huge spectacle in the 1960's with Jeffrey Hunter as Christ. For 1927, just before talkies, the cinematography was quite extraordinary and the passion of the Christ was divulged in very realistic tones. It was a big budget silent film that was well received.
