The original "The Mechanic", with Charles Bronson and Jan Michael Vincent, was waaay better. This one is an action flick without either believable characters or credible story. For example, the cold-blooded assassin "hero" in this version only ever kills really "bad" people by sheer coincidence -- unless he's tricked into killing a "good guy". The "evil master mind" is played by the guy who was the betraying friend of Patrick Swayze in Ghost, but either he's lost his menace over the years or the direction and script were so bad that he could do nothing with his role. There are lots of crashing vehicles and shooting and explosions, but that's about all this flick has to offer.
