Monuments Men is good movie based on the preservation and retrieval of priceless artwork which had been stolen by the Germans during World War II. The film has an all-star cast, great acting, and strong dialogue. The plot surrounds the importance of preserving classical artwork as a means of maintaining culture, history, identity, and giving direction towards the future. The story is original and a breath of fresh air from your other typical war movies. What makes it even more fascinating is that it is based on a true story and it is educational. Knowing a lot about that time of world history, I never knew there was a small group of Allied officers on a mission to retrieve and preserve priceless artwork stolen by Germans during the war. A few historical inaccuracies are the only real downside of the movie.
