Super duper film noir in which a wife has some schemes up her sexy sleeves. The film adaptation had to be toned down from the steamy novel, but it works, nonetheless. The one thing I didn't buy is that Lana Turner could possibly be married to the Cecil Kellaway character. It's a dead giveaway that she wouldn't ever be interested in this sort of man. The remake with Jack Nicholson and Kathleen Turner really turns up the heat. The remake had a change of title.
