This is a pretty fine movie... a great period piece with excellent performances in all the roles. If you are a fan of any of the featured stars, you won't be disappointed. I could nitpick about the way the story is laid out... timeline transitions are a bit confusing, but overall it's rich, complex and very well done. My only serious problem with this film is that the story turns on a plot device that straddles the fuzzy edge where SF and Fantasy meet, courtesy of Nicolai Tesla (David Bowie) in a brilliantly low-key cameo) Discovering that we are in the realm of Fantasy 3/4s of the way through the movie made the whole plotline rather disappointing. After all, if the laws of physics and reality can be bent that easily, why can't _anything_ happen? Surely the writers could have come up with something better than this, grounded in everyday reality? But this movie is really good in practically every other respect... well worth seeing.

I loved it but you can see I am confused. Sad but true I am a Master's student, probably thinking too hard or not...
