This 1954 extravaganza of a musical/operetta from MGM boasts the wonderful music of S. Romberg. It's star to be, Mario Lanza, only does the singing to Edmund Purdom's rather cardboard performance as the young Prince. The plot is as predictable as can be in this naive operetta, but it matters little as the great tunes take over the screen big time. This is, categorically, Romberg's crowning glory, pardon the pun!
