The Taking of Pelham One Two Three

The 1974 Taking of the Pelham One Two Three is a pretty nifty thriller satarring Walter Matthau with mayhem on a NYC subway line. Martin Balsam, Robert Shaw and Hector Elizondo offer a great supporting cast. This original version is much better that the Denzel Washinton remake, which in itself was a great movie.
