    The Tree of Life

My thoughts went to Marshall McCluhan at the outset.."The medium is the message". Not TV, not the movies, not graffiti, simply the power of CG. It will end up as an Art film, rather than mainstream. Imagine you are in an area of the world where every building is plastered with photos of the current despot.. Mao, Hussein, Khadafi. The population will be unable to turn these images off until the despots are removed or replaced. Then imagine the same surfaces plastered with reproductions of a Picasso, a Rodin, a Mondarin. Nobody's looking, right? The first part of this film is the masterpiece. Worthy of seeing again. The balance is the work of a realist/philosopher. Worthy of seeing again.
